A Mughal-Inspired Palace Preserved on the Lake

Jag Niwas and the Mewar Summer Retreat

Commissioned by Maharana Jagat Singh II between 1743 and 1746 as a summer retreat for the Mewar royal family, the island palace was later transformed into a heritage hotel in 1963 by Maharana Bhagwat Singh Mewar and is now operated by Taj Hotels.
